Class 2 - Div 1 - Early Treatment
When a young patient is responsible and motivated – and therefore cooperative – braces can be avoided in the quest for a wonderful result.
Treating Buck Teeth with Functional Appliances
When your top teeth stick out so much that the lower lip rests constantly between the upper and lower front teeth, you have a situation worse than a thumb habit – the lip is there all day long! Imagine wearing an appliance that causes the lower lip to rest on the outside of the upper lip, pulling the top teeth back – instead of pushing them outward.
This patient wore her Frankel (the appliance shown) diligently over a period of 18 months and was able to avoid fixed braces.
Notice the improvement in her facial profile and how comfortably the lips come together in a resting position. These are signs of a balance equilibrium and good indicators of long-term stability.
